First knitting project

After 6 months of on again off again work I finally finished my first knitting project. I know there are plenty of mistakes but I am so happy to have it completed. Next on my list is a rotini scarf. Until next time.

Cowboy boots and pullups

Suri was home with me today. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to handle her with this bum knee, but I woke up feeling pretty good. She was a good spirit lifter. She kept me busy and made me laugh. I tried all day to get britches on her but she refused saying "cowboy boots and pullup". No harm done.

Here is her "serious" face.

And of course her "surprised" face.

Recovery

Today was a better day. I ditched the crutches and limped around on my own all day. The swelling isn't great but I'm being a good girl and leaving these terrible TED hose on, icing, and elevating. Sure I'm using veggies as my ice packs and a fashion scarf to hold them on, oh and don't forget the build-a-bear under my knee for added comfort.. Tomorrow will be better.
Until next time...

Old bones

One thing I have learned since reaching 30 (31 now if we want to get real honest) is that your body starts falling apart. I joked with my mom last summer that I wake up everyday and there is always some part of my body that is achy. Well, I have nearly worn my right knee out now. I had a knee surgery today to clean up some cartilage and had a little adjustment to help my kneecap move better. This happens to be the second surgery on this knee. I had an ACL and meniscus repair 16 years ago. Good times, eh? Well the good news is I should be back on my feet in no time. The bad news is that doc has highly recommended no more running. I think I just wore my knees out with all of that basketball. So i am going to have to start really liking swimming and biking, or just give up food.

Well, i can't give up food.

See you at spin class.

Until next time....

Tea party

Josh had an away game yesterday so it was just me and the girls for the majority of the day. It was freezing cold and the roads were icy so I was definitely not going to try and get out. We played everything. We played twister, we colored, we did a pretend pool party in the tub (bathing suits and all), and we even had a tea party. The girls were so good until about 4pm and that when the fight broke out. I'm talking pushing, punching, screaming, the whole bit. I thought suri would run to mommy. Nope, she was giving Sophs all she could handle. I think they were pretty much over each other. I'm sure that they would have hurt each other had I not separated them. Crazy children!

Daddy daughter dance

Last night Josh took Sophs to her first daddy daughter dance. Sophia was so excited. I took her to the store and told her that she could pick out her own outfit for the dance. She is my little fashionista. Here is what she chose.

Suri-isms

Thats correct, you read it right. It is time for Suri to have her own posts about the sweet, silly, crazy, and obnoxious things that she says. Today was full of them but I will only share two. First, we were over at a friend's house picking the girls up from a playdate when Suri ran off. I went to look for her and my friend was helping her climb the stairs and Suri was telling her "don't tell nobody". STINKER!!! The second cracked me up because we were at home and Josh had just finished scolding her for something. Suri came into the bedroom and said "mommy, daddy is RUDE, and that is NOT NICE". 2 years old people.

Unrile next time.....

Sophia-mommy day

Sophia and I got to have a girl day today! We went to build a bear, then starbucks, and then to white house black market (I love this store). Sophs was a little fashion diva telling everyone who was trying on clothes how awesome they looked. Seriously they should have put her on the payroll today. We had so much fun. This is a picture of her at starbucks enjoying a pink cakepop.

Another Christmas

For our final Christmas celebration we headed to Madison. Pamela and Dale once again spoiled us all to pieces. Sophia got a small singer sewing machine and now thinks that she is Vera Wang. Suri got a pie of cowboy boots that totally rock. The kids had so much fun!

While we were in Madison we had dinner at Dale's sons restaurant. It is called Crystal and Jules and it is fantastic. The restaurant is located in historic downtown Madison. It is a small place but the food is amazing. I had the herb crusted salmon, which was fantastic and Josh had a steak. We also tried the shrimp and crab fondue, the coconut shrimp, and the crab cake. Next time I want to try the tilapia........and the bruschetta............and the steak........oh oh and the chocolate cake......so much for the new years resolution.

About my new years resolution...... Well, I haven't come up with any yet. Give me a couple of weeks and I will have a few to share. I am happy to announce that I finally accomplished my 2010 resolution of learning how to knit (thank you YouTube).

That is all for now. Until next time...
