Sur Surs

I had an unexpected day home with Suri today. Although making work arrangements was stressful I am so glad that Suri and I got Monday together. We played, had eggs for breakfast (she loves them), and we watched the barbie channel all morning. Suri is obsessed with this video that has cats singing "you're Unbelievable". Suri will ask me "ta go teety". This means turn to the kitty song or I'm gonna cry. So, I've watched this video probably 70 times. I hate that song now. But, I love watching her dance...

Until next time......

Happy Birthday Sophia

This year I told myself that we would not do a lot for Sophs birthday. Having two kiddos really makes doing anything a little more difficult. Well, my plan didn't work. this child ended up having like Four celebrations.

The first was at school when I brought cupcakes in for her class.

The second was on the 20th (her actual birthday) when I bought a small cake and we celebrated with just the four of us at home.

Last night we had a small little get together with Sophs and a few of her friends at the Imagination Station.

And lastly, today we had a family party at our house. Mama Pam, papa Dale, Boo, Papi, Kyle, and Kami's family joined us.

So................so much for not doing too much for her birthday.

My little girl is 5 years old. It is so hard to believe she will be going to school in the fall.

Weekend Update

We have had one busy weekend. After Sophia's birthday at school my mom and Dale stopped by to pick up Suri and take her to Madison for the weekend. I warned them of the craziness that a 1 year old will bring, but they insisted that they could more than handle it. So, the question I ask now is.......... What has four thumbs and survived a weekend with Suri?.....

THESE GUYS!!!

While Suri was in Madison I really wanted to give some one on one attention to miss Sophia. Friday night we had a date. All 3 of us went and saw Gnomeo and Juliet. It was so cute. I laughed out loud......a few times. I mean they said "kiss my grass"....... That's funny! We got ice cream afterward.

Saturday was game day so Josh left early to go to walk through with his team. Sophs and I went to the game a little later and rooted on the Trojans at the regional. One of the players let Sophs borrow a jersey for the game. She felt like big stuff. Our team lost, but we are still proud of them.

That's Josh there. I made him wave...

After Josh got home we went downtown and walked around and ate at The Old Spaghetti Factory. We were totally exhausted when we got home and fell asleep early. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not fit to watch anymore ball games. They just wear me out. I get too involved. I'm sure my heart rate was at 92 percent, easy. I can't handle the stress anymore.

Cupcakes!!!

Sophs has a birthday coming up this Sunday. She is so excited to be turning 5. I took cupcakes into her class for morning snack and she was so happy. Miss Y. Let her be the helper and pass them out. Her classmates sang happy birthday. Suri went too. She checked everything out is Sophie's classroom and licked the icing off of one of the cupcakes. We are delaying Sophs birthday party until next weekend due to basketball regionals, but I'm sure we will do something fun on Sunday.

Until next time......

Sectionals

Josh's team has made it to the sectional finals tonight. Woo hoo. So exciting for this young group of girls. The girls and I won't be attending for 2 reasons. 1) Sophs has been running a fever and been very lethargic and 2) Suri is wild, which is reason enough all by itself. However we will begetting text updates on the score all night. As Josh was leaving the house this was the conversation that went down:

Josh: "well girls I'm leaving, wish me luck"

Me: "good luck babe. Work 'em over"

Sophs: "yeah daddy. You win and bring me the trophy and bring mommy the money"

That's my girl. She's no fool.

Until next time.......

Findlay

Sophs and I had a fantastic weekend. We went to Findlay, Ohio for one of my basketball teammates induction to the Hall of Fame. Way to go Mianda! Josh wasn't able to go due to basketball so Sophia stepped in as my date. It was so nice to see everyone again and reminisce about old times. We sure had some fun in college. Let's just say that there was mention of a vacuum bag on fire, a hair weave falling out during practice, and gas during pre-game meditation/visualization. So many stories.......... It is funny how you can be away from people and lose contact for years, but when you do meet up again it's like nothing changed, no time lost.

Until next time........

Ice storm

Last night we were hit by an ice storm. Luckily for us we kept power however I think we may lose a couple of trees. Needless to say school was cancelled and I wasn't able to make my commute up north. So, it was an eggs in a basket kind of morning.

Rumor has it.... We are supposed to be getting a ton of snow today.... Wow, winter is definitely giving us all we can handle.

Until next time......
