Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. Sophia is definitely getting excited about Santa's visit. She has asked for princesses, ariel jammies, choo choo train, and of course "candies". Her school celebrated Christmas with a party themed "Christmas around The World". Sophia got to taste food from different cultures and make arts and crafts. Until next time....

State Champions!

Sophia has had such a super busy month. Thanksgiving was great. We spent a few days down in Madison. Sophia got to spend some time with her cousins Gracie, Landon, Addison, and Lincoln. She spent all of Thanksgiving evening and dinner dressed up like Ariel because "I like Ariel". Those are Sophia's words. I have been getting a lot of those answers from her when i ask why she did something "cause I like to". Saturday after Thanksgiving was our all time busiest day of the year so far. We woke up in Madison, drove to Edinburgh to pick up a couple of Christmas gifts, headed to our house in Greenwood to change clothes, took Sophia to her first "friend" birthday party at the gymnastic center, met some friends for pizza, and then headed to the football state finals....Whew! What a day. Fortunately for us, The Center Grove Trojans won the state title game. "6 Minutes, 22 points, 1 Championship"... A great finish to a busy day. Until next time.......

Halloween

Sophia got all dressed up in her Snow White costume last night to trick or treat around the neighborhood. She had so much fun going house to house with Riley and Brody. Last night we asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she told Josh and I that she wanted to be a doctor. When asked a doctor of what? She quickly answered "candy!". A doctor of candy. Sounds like a good career to me. Trick or treat! Until next time.........

Disney World 2008

What a trip! We visited four parks in 5 days: Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. Sophia got to see Mickey Mouse and his friends as well as all of the princesses. She also got to play in the kiddie pool at Pop Century nearly everyday. Sophia rode her first roller coaster at the Magic Kingdom, and might i say it was pretty fast and I most definitely had a death grip on her. She also went on her first safari at Animal Kingdom and saw elephants, zebras, and alligators. Also at Animal Kindom, we won Mickey Mouse ears as part of the year of a million dreams. We had such a great time. I think Josh, myself and Sophia went to bed by nine every night just from pure exhaustion. Until next time.......

Summer's End

Sophia had a fun filled summer with camp, swimming, vacation, the zoo, and playing outside. We are all now enjoying the cooler days and of course "football season" (well, Josh and Sophia anyways). I remember only a couple of months ago putting Sophs on her tricycle and her not being able to even reach the pedals. Just yesterday I watched as she climbed on and started pedaling herself right down the sidewalk. When did her legs grow two inches? We are so excited about our upcoming trip to Disney World and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Celebration. Sophia has memorized the names of nearly all of the princesses and characters. However, as of late she has become super scared of fireworks so the evening festivities at Disney World may have to be missed. Until next time.....

First Hair Cut

I took Sophia in for her first hair cut on Friday. She did so well. I explaned to her that she needed to get a big girl hair cut for school. She even gave me a few princess smiles. Until next time......

Welcome to the family

I'm a bit delayed in this announcement, although I am sure most everyone knows...My mom got married in Key West, FL early June and held her reception at Belterra Ballroom on June 28, 2008...We are so excited to welcome Dale to the family....Wishing both of you many great years together!!

Last weekend we traveled to Michigan to visit with Josh's family and to celebrate mama Holt's 80th birthday. Sophia got to go to the waterpark and have a picnic with Boo,Papi,Kyle, Josh and I...Although the weather was beautiful, the water temperature was freezing!!! Sophia also got to visit Mama Holt, Aunt Vicki, Mickey,Joanne and Phill..We took a boat ride on Duck lake with Uncle Mike, Matthew, Kami, Mark, Gracie, and Landon....Sophia loved it..Sophia has learned a new song and now loves to sing and perform "Take me out to the ball game" and adds "get runs..." at the very end....Car rides seem to be getting easier, with less and less meltdowns..Thank goodness...Until next time....

Hilton Head, SC 2008

We just returned from our vacation at Hilton Head, SC. We had a great time. Sophia loved hanging out with her cousins Gracie, Landon, Addie, and Lincoln. She swam in the pool and got her feet in the ocean. She even saw dolphins on our last day at the beach. Sophia collected seashells and sand dollars, and even got to take glow sticks down to the beach after it got dark. More than anything, Sophia seemed to enjoy popsicles the most. I think she had alomst 5 every single day.

Go Green Part II

Sophia's plants are growing well. Our pot of grass is getting really long and we have one tomato that is still green. She helps to water each plant with her water toy everyday. We also measured Sophia's height at the park. She is a giant 3ft 2 inches. Until next time.....

Sunshine

A few weeks ago JOsh's brothers came down for a visit. Sophia loves hanging out with Zack and Kyle. They played outside on the swingset, blew bubbles and flew a kite. Until next time..........

Detroit Zoo

We travelled to Waterford this weekend to spend some time with Josh's family. Sophia had a great time hanging out with mo-boo, papi, uncle kyki, and uncle zack. On Saturday, she went to the zoo and got to walk around the kangaroos, see penguins, and her most exciting part of the day, seeing a polar bear poop....She hasn't stopped talking about that. Gross!!! Josh's child...We also celebrated Josh's 29th birthday and Fathers Day...Sophia got her daddy a weed whipper...Fun!! Are you sensing sarcasm? Until next time..........

Rain Rain Go Away

Wow....what a weekend we have had. Luckily we only had a little bit of water damage in our loft area. We did get to enjoy some nice weather on Sunday and Sophia played in her pool and in her swing....We now have some outdoor pets...We have 2 ducks that regularly visit, a baby bunny rabbit, and lots and lots of birds...It is like a little zoo....Until next time..........

Memorial Day Weekend

What a great weekend...Sophia got to spend a lot of time with her Uncle Kyle (aka "gus") and her uncle Zack. She played on her swingset, in her sandbox, and flew a kite. She also got to watch her daddy, Zack, and Kyle race on go-karts and for the first time got to eat a smore..Yummy! Until next time.........
