Little ears

I am sure all parents have those moments when they think "now where in the world did my child hear that". And we have also. However, Sophs has said a few things that are questionable and we know exactly who is to blame.

Situation 1: Josh and Sophs were playing with the Wii just dance and Sophia told Josh "daddy, I don't like that mummy, he is FREAKING me out". Now I realize it wasn't like she said "that freaking mummy is crazy" because that would just be all sorts of bad. Who is to blame? Phineaus and Ferb.

Situation 2: Sophia, Suri, and I were coming back from exercise and I asked Sophs where she wanted to go. She said "to the HIZZY". (that means house for all you Snoop Dog haters). Whose to blame? Me. But if she says "fo shizzy" that is totally Josh's fault.

Invisible

You know why I have been invisible to my children the last couple of days?.......

These guys

This is Zack and Kyle, they are Sophia and Suri's uncles. Sophs pretty much thinks they are the bees knees. Notice that she and Kyle are dressed alike (Kyle bought this shirt for Sophs for Christmas).

By the way ladies, they both are SINGLE! Yep, I am totally pimping them out. You are welcome Zack and Kyle...

The night before Christmas....

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the..........well, you know the rest....there were children, stockings, St Nich........a clatter, a kerchief, 8 reindeer, and of course a bundle of toys.... Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Cookies are baked, carrots and reindeer food are scattered on the porch, and Christmas lights are on. I don't think the girls could be anymore excited.

Hair Help

Mama Pam and Papa Dale came for a visit today to help with kiddos while Josh and I finalized some Santa work. Pamela was well aware of the hair issues we were having with Suri. This is what we came back home to:

Not so sure this is A good look but it definitely kept her hair out of her face.

Bad Hair Day

Poor Surs. Born with a double crown, wispy white hair, and what appears to be the beginnings of ONE MEAN MULLET! I am at a loss as to what to do with this child's hair. She refuses to leave a pony in.

Sophia, on the othe hand, was bald for two years and now has gorgeous hair. Matter of fact, I want her hair.

Christmas Program

Sophs had her Christmas program at school yesterday and it was so cute. The story line was that there were three Christmas trees and two got chosen by families but the third didn't . Birds, bunnies, and a star became friends with this tree so it wouldn't be lonely and sad. Sophs played a bird. She had been practicing her songs at home for a couple of weeks so I knew she was ready.

Later that night.....

Sophs puked all night long...we have been invaded by the flu bug. Yuck!

How I Know

You know how I know that these children are mine (besides, of course, the months and months of preterm labor and the whole birthing from your loin deal, yowza!!)? Because they love eating beans and cornbread....

Spelling with Sophs

As mentioned in previous posts, Sophs has really gotten into her letters, writing, and spelling. She regularly strings together 4-5 letters and asks "mommy, what did I spell?". Two nights in a row she has spelled BOOB. Here was how last nights conversation went down.....

Sophia: "B O O B.... What does that spell mommy? Does it spell bee?"

Me: "urrrr....uhhhhhmmmmmm........ No baby, you spell bee B E E".

Sophia: "B O O B.... So, what does that spell?"

Me: "urrrrrrrrr.......uhhhhhhhmmmmmmm........well, I'm not sure. What do you want to spell?"

Sophia: "merry Christmas"

I have to be very careful with what I "teach" Sophs. This child will remember anything and then go to school and talk about it.... Yikes... It's hard telling what those poor ladies have heard from her.

Munchkin Land

This is our centerpiece. Fake apples and pears.

I guess this sort of looks real.

Suri thought it was........

I probably should have just thrown this one away. Instead, I just turned it over and put it back in the bowl.

Suri Jean

Suri jean has been growing and growing. She is one of the funniest babies ever. She loves to dance and let me tell you, this girl can get DOWN! She loves taking baths, eating, going bye bye, wrestling, and dogs (although she will never have one-mark my word NEVER). She is saying many words. "mommy", of course, is my favorite. She is saying bye bye, night night, more, hi, bottle, daddy, puppy, and doggy. She loves blowing kisses. She still has her white hair although it is beginning to grow into a mullet.

Until next time......

Snow!

We woke up today with snow. Not a lot, but it was pretty and it fell all day. The girls and I got bundled up and played outside. For the record, I worked Sophia over in a snowball fight today!

Sophia also had gymnastics today, which she absolutely LOVES. She has almost mastered the monkey bars. She can cross 4 rungs completely by herself. Josh's idea to get her to cross all of them without help was replacing the ball pit (underneath) with 3 or 4 crocodiles. Brilliant!

Thanksgiving 2010

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Madison this year with my family. What a busy 4 days! We ate one meal at grandma Holts then turned right around that same day and had a second meal at my mom and Dale's house. We also managed to squeeze in one of our extended family Christmas parties.

We had a great time. Sophia was in heaven playing with all of her cousins and Suri had a ton of fun exploring and climbing (that's right, I've got a climber. Yikes!)

Thanksgiving Faux Pas

Your invited to a Thanksgiving Celebration Feast at a family members home. Their house is fairly new and you haven't been there. You spent some time at home making a dish to bring. You get in your car (with another family member) and drive to the feast. You let yourself into the host's house and head toward the kitchen to put your dish on the buffet line zig zagging through the crowd of people. Once you set your dish on the counter you turn around to realize that you don't recognize a soul there. What do you do?

A. Quietly pick up your dish and head out of the house.

B. Announce "well, I don't know any of you all"

C. Act like you belong there and offer up the prayer

Well, this didn't happen to me but it did happen to a guest at our Thanksgiving. she chose B. They did finally find the right location, and lived happily ever after..... Definitely a great story for dinner.

Until next time....

Christmas spoiler

You see this..........

Well, we received our first online Christmas purchase yesterday and Josh quickly stashed it out of reach and out of sight of a certain 4 year old.

As you can see, only a tiny bit of the letter "D" was showing.

Sophs spotted that box within 2 minutes of walking in the house. She said "hey, what's in that Disney box? I think it's for me".

I lied because.......well, what else are you supposed to do when it comes to Santa. I said "oh Sophs, that box is old. It has been there forever".

Sophia: "no mommy, it has tape on it still. It's new and it's for me".

Me: "hey Sophs, want some candy?"

That was all I had.... Sophs, boy does she keep me on my toes. I can't get anything by her.
