Boo Bear

As mentioned in a previous post Boo bear's days are numbered. He survived a surgical procedure, but his innards are becoming squishy and regardless of how many times I wAsh him he is still dingy. Boo (Josh's mom) was a thinker (not a stinker) and special ordered a perfect copy of boo bear. Sophs now has two and we will be prepared for when the original truly bites the dust.

Until next time......

Girls weekend- a different version

This weekend Josh attended a coaching clinic in Lansing, MI thus giving Sophia, Suri, and I a "girls weekend". My main challenge was wrangling a busy 1 year old during the 50 minutes of Soph's gymnastic class. I realized much to late that I should have just stuck her in the ball pit. I would have burned fewer calories and might have gotten to watch Sophia a little bit. Lesson learned.....

We had a surprise visit from Pamela and Dale and went to the mall. Another lesson learned: if it rains, the mall will be jam packed. Sophia did the trampoline and loved it. This child is fearless! Sophs then crashed from about 5pm until 7:30pm.

Today, during Suri's morning nap Sophs and I organized her closet. I'm sure we will be doing this again next week. She is really into cutting paper right now, which is fine, but lord have mercy I threw away at least a ca-jillion little pieces of paper (trust me, that is a lot).

Josh will be back this afternoon, at which time Sophs and I will head to the grocery store. I'm trying 2 new recipes this week so stay tuned......

Until next time......

Witch

Sophia and Josh were watching The Wizard of Oz last weekend and Sophs told Josh "daddy, if i ever saw that ol' witch I'd slap her". Consider that your warning witch.

Amazing Race

I'm very excited about the new Amazing Race starting. I just love that show. How awesome would it be to get to see all of those fantastic places? I watched the first show of the season last night and couldn't help but think about "what if Josh and I got on, what roles would we each have?". Here is what I came up with:

Molly's responsibilities
1. Learn French and spanish. Communicating with taxi drivers and asking for help.
2. Study country maps, know how to get places (co-pilot)
3. Study airport layouts, know where rental car pickup, etc.
4. Learn and know cultural expectations and history for as many countries as possible
5. Learn currency

Josh's responsibilities
1. Manage our social game (he is a people person and is never socially awkward)
2. Know how to drive a stick and change a tire super fast
3. Be our positive motivator (because I'm soooooo not.. If I'm angry you will know)
4. Know cultures (social studies teacher, after all)
5. Make sure I eat!

I think we would kill in the athletic tasks. Our downfall would be navigation. I would come across as a nagging wife and Josh would come across as clueless (love you babe), but definitely he would be a fan favorite. We would get knocked out midway through the race, not first, but not last. The fans would love Josh so much they would vote us to win $25,000. We would walk away winners, and then with our winnings we would plan a super awesome fantastic Disney vacation with our little blonde girlies, and I would buy myself a sweet purse ;)

The end.

Until next time.......

Girls Weekend

This weekend I am heading to Madison, solo, to hang out with my mom, sis, aunt, and cousin. We are heading downtown to check out the Chautauqua. As nice as it is to browse the artists creations, all I can think about is the fab fattening food. I'm also excitEd to see my friend's new shop at the Trolley Barn, a must see if you have little girls. Check out her website to see her products at www.lilaccents.com

More Sophiaisms

Me: "sophs, you need to tell daddy that he needs to finish the dishes". (yep, I went the passive aggressive route, don't judge)

Sophia: "okay mommy"

Later that night................

Sophia: "daddy, you better do the dishes or I'm gonna work you all over this house".

This and that

The following blips are completely random and may or mAy not have anything to do with one another. My mind sort of works in the same way so stay with me here.

-Bought a new computer on Friday. Our refrigerator broke on Sunday. God has a sense of humor.

-Today, I was driving in the car with the girls and Sophs was talking in a quiet (for her) voice. I asked her what was wrong and she said in a raspy voice "sometimes, uhhhhhm, when I talk......my voice is crooked".

-Although Suri is walking she occasionally bear crawls so fast it looks like the girl from The Exorcist (except way cuter).

-I'm dying to get back to the library to exchange my book on CD. I think I've listened to nearly ten during my commute to and from work. NERD!

-On our drive back from Madison yesterday I looked in the back seat and then at Josh and I just felt so proud of our little family. I looked back five minutes later and saw Sophia sleeping with her head bobbing within reach of Suri and Suri attempting to pull Sophs hair. Sisters!

Until next time.......

Suri Update

Suri had her one year check up on Friday. As expected, she is a big girl. Here are her stats:

Height- 31 inches (98th percentile)

Weight- 22.6 lbs- (75th percentile)

Head- 110th percentile but covered with gorgeous white hair ;)

Shots? Yes, she had 5.

Suri is walking now. She is eating everything but really loves fruit and v8 fusion. She loves playing with sophs. She says the following words: hi, baby, bye bye, daddy, mum, no no, night night, and ball (she is my daughter after all).

Until next time.

"That's what she said"

So, my husband, well heck, my whole family is obsessed with Big Brother. This season just finished up which is unfortunate since I LOVE IT! Anyhow, one of the funnier parts of the show (shown on the extra footage episode) they were making fun of Lane, who is my favorite, for not understanding the "that's what she said" phrase. I was absolutely cracking up because I understood his pain. Not that I don't understand it, but I'm equally as annoyed when I hear it. Everything, I mean everything can be made dirty by just adding "that's what she said" to the end. Josh does this. Oh yeah, totally calling you out! Lanes' response was always "who is she and why would she say that?". Exactly, why would sheever say that? Just a thought. Until next time.........

Happy birthday

This weekend we headed to MadiSon to celebrate two birthdays. Landon turned 4 and Izzy turned 1. Sophs had a great time playing with her cousins and Suri got to show off her new walking. I made sure to take my own turn or two .............or three on the inflatable slide. Still a kid at heart, I guess.

More to come. I got a new computer so I will be able to update more frequently.

Until next time.......

Yoga

Did my first yoga class yesterday.

I'm not flexible... At all..

Down-dog split, cobra, happy baby.........yep,not pretty

Pretty sure the instructor wasn't speaking english, not sure though....

I might have fallen asleep during the final relaxation, again, not sure though...

My main goal was to not draw attention to myself in any way (more specifically with innapropriate bodily noises)

My saving grace. The lights were off.......

I loved it. I will go back...

Until next time.....

Zoo

For Suri's birthday we invited Josh's family and my family up to go to the zoo. It was a gorgeous day. The zoo, as you can imagine, was very crowded. Once we got through the over-crowded oceans area my anxiety about losing a child subsided and I was able to enjoy the day. We ended up having a ball. Kami's kiddos got to ride their first roller coaster, Sophia raced the invisible cheetah, and Suri got to check out all of the animals and eat her weight in goldfish crackers. Uncle Kyki spent a good portion of his day carrying Sophia around on his shoulders. I tell you what, Sophia will be heartbroken when she isn't Uncle Kyki's number 1 girl. Until next time......

Happy Birthday Suri!

Our Little Suri Jean turned one on September 1st. She has had such a great year. She is drinking from a sippy cup, she is off of formula, she is potty trained (totally kidding, I wish), she has 2 teeth, and no more baby food. She is taking 4-5 steps by herself and she is so close to walking it is scary. Her crib has been lowered to prevent "superfly" from the top ropes (Sophia performed this stunt right around age 1). Baby gates are in place because she has demonstrated to us her ability to climb stairs and to climb them quickly. When no one is watching....... yep.......

Happy Birthday Surs!

Until next time.....

Gymnastics

We contemplated many evenings on which activity to get Sophs in this fall. We were stuck between soccer, which she did last year, gymnastics, and karate (Mulan inspired). We decided gymnastics was the best choice. Sophs is in the 4 year old class and is the tallest girl there. She just loves it and isn't shy at all. She had no problem on the first day announcing to her teacher that "I can do that by myself" to every single gymnastics stunt.

Until next time.....
